May’s last weekend is full of all kind of activities to enjoy in Montevideo. In MyCityGuide we will tell you the different ways in which you can entertain yourself these Saturday and Sunday.
Enjoy different flavors at Degusto
Degusto, the gastronomic fair, is finally taking place this weekend in Parque Grauert. More than 80 different options to enjoy! Gluten free, vegan, sweet and salty alternatives, music and cooking lessons, all in the same place with free entry. Some of our recommended food spots will be participating! You would find Pacharán, Santé Café y Cocina, Chelato, Gracia Food & Wine, and chefs Martín Lavecchia (from Foc Restaurant) and Cali Dienmarch (from Estrecho Cuisine Moderne).
Discover the Regional Independent Art Fair
Sinergia Design will be full of photographs, sculptures, ceramics and more during the Regional Independent Art Fair. On Saturday and Sunday, between 12pm and 9pm artists from the region will be exposing their artwork. A great opportunity to get closer to emerging art! A complete delight to your senses.
On Saturday night, at Paullier and Guaná’s corner, one of Montevideo’s meeting points, there will be music. Mux will be playing live on Inmigrantes at 11 p.m. They will play their new music, that they are currently recording, and some of their previous songs.
Sunday night also has a music date. This time at Mingus, at San Salvador street. MVD Big Band will be playing under the direction of Daniel Camelo. There are two options to attend the show at 8 p.m. or at 9.30 p.m.
An encounter with sustainability
Till Sunday, and during the week, Montevideo is hosting the second edition of MOLA event, that aims to create consciousness about sustainable fashion in Latin America. On Saturday and Sunday, different sustainable brands of the continent will be showing their products at Plaza del Carnaval. There will also be some workshops and food trucks. A conference will take place at Centro Cultural Español on Saturday morning.
Camino Verde and Club de Reparadores x Montevideo have an original proposal for the event, the invitation to give those objects, that are apparently useless, another chance. An old jean, or an electronic device, don’t buy another, fix it on this encounter!
